The Megalpolis is very popular among immigrants and they contribute to the area’s vitality and economic wealth. The three major physio-graphic provinces include: the Atlantic Coastal Plain, the Piedmont, and the Appalachians. All of the major cities that comprise the Megalopolis are all located near the area’s most important rivers. The regions climate is moderate, with rain throughout the year. The south portion of Megalopolis is more humid and subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The northern part of Megalopolis has winters that are much longer and colder, summers tend to be shorter and cooler. Hurricanes can sometimes be a threat to this area.

New York was known to be the largest city in Northern American for over 2 centuries. It is also a major city in the entire world. Today, New York is one of the world’s important financial center.
In 1701, Philadelphia was finally made into a city. This city played a significant role during the American Revolution. After American Independence, Philadelphia grew slower than New York, but it still grew. In 1950, Philadelphia’s population increased to an astounding 2.1 million people, which was its peak. Philadelphia has well defined ethnic cities.
Baltimore, placed on the northwest part of Chesapeake Bay, underwent racial pressure, white flight and urban decay, similar to Philadelphia. Local and Foreign raw resources were produced into completed products in Baltimore factories.
For the past half century, Washington DC has arisen into major world city. This city is 40 miles southwest from the city of Baltimore. Washington DC is described by many as a “ southern efficiency and northern charm.” DC is a significant economic and economic center for the US.
